RACE 1 - BREMERHAVEN (9) has the hoof on the till having filled a minor placing at both runs to date, the latest when beaten a head into second at this track and trip. Draws closer to the fence and doesn't have to progress a lot to strike. SHADOW CRUISER (7) has trialled since the last outing and blinkers go on. Has claims off a placing three back at Eagle Farm. VIENNAWAITSFORYOU (12) will be fitter for two runs since a spell and did find the line last time. Could be ready to peak. O'POLLY (10) hasn't been far away in recent runs so can be in the finish.
RACE 2 - HEROIC MISS (1) has won a trial since she boxed on to be beaten 2 lengths over 1110m at Doomben last time. That came on the back of a win at Gatton. Drawn to go forward and looks suited. COURT WHISPERS (8) performed below market expectations last time but still wasn't too far from the placings. Had recorded a win and two placings from her other three runs this time in so is worth another chance. OLD SCHOOL (5) had recorded a string of top-three finishes prior to the last attempt and does her best work at this trip. Contender. FLYING SHAMUS (3) has claims off a Mackay win two back.
RACE 3 - LENNIC (8) made an encouraging debut last time out, closing well to finish one length from the winner in third over 1110m at Doomben. Open to natural improvement and the longer trip should suit so looks a serious contender. DRIALLE (1) was a beaten favourite in his first run for the new yard but was only two lengths away at Doomben. Can be in the finish. ELROY (15) returns off a nice trial and is drawn to advantage so must be respected while EVER SO CLEVER (6) has been ticking along nicely this time in and should be reaching peak fitness.
RACE 4 - ROCK LOBSTER (9) kept chasing and wasn't far away last time when second over 1110m at Doomben. That should have brought her to peak fitness third up. Bold showing expected. SHOT OUT (12) found one marginally better when first-up from a spell last start over 1200m at this track. Drawn to advantage and has upside. Strong claims. FLY WITH YOU (2) is another that will trim down second-up and has been runner up in all three runs to date. Right in contention. DAINTREE DREAMING (1) will be fitter for recent racing so may be ready to show more.
RACE 5 - MAGIC IN ME (5) does some of his best work when fresh, landing two wins and two placings in six resuming attempts. Races well at this distance and is drawn to get the favours. PACIFIC PADRINO (1) was runner up here when fresh last month and his two efforts in the city since have had merit. Contender. A LOT OF BOOTY (10) is consistent and deserving of respect having placed in all three runs since winning his maiden at this track. SHINSHINTO (9) is racing well with a win and two placings from the last three runs. Can play a role again.
RACE 6 - WHY WE DRINK (5) drifted back over 1680m here last time before winding up late to finish fourth, beaten 1.5 lengths. Reaching her peak so could finish over the top of these. UNCOMMON VALOUR (7) was a Toowoomba winner two back then jumped in trip when second over 1800m at Sunshine Coast last time. Yet to miss a place at the course or the distance. Expected to go close. DICKENSIAN (1) has been racing well on the poly with two wins and a second from his last three runs. If he can transfer that form to the turf he is a player. RAGING POLE (3) was beaten just half a length last time. In the mix.
RACE 7 - EN POINTE (8) finished off last campaign by tackling some decent opposition and looks to have returned in good order having tuned up with a trial win. That could have her ready to strike first up. HARDWARE LANE (1) registered a strong win in his lone visit to this track two runs ago. Not disgraced last time out when boxing on for fifth over 1200m at Sunshine Coast, beaten 2.8 lengths. Drawn to get the favours so can make an impact. CAMPAI (7) led throughout for a second-up win at Gold Coast Poly and has won a trial since so should be fit. LIME SODA (5) has been freshened since tackling a stronger race at Eagle Farm but has been kept up to the mark with a trial win and is aided by the inside draw.
RACE 8 - EASY COMPANY (8) showed good improvement second up when chasing well for a 1.8L fourth at this track and distance. That was in a C2 so should find this easier. Cherry-ripe now and is well placed to break through. SPILLIFY (11) progressed nicely last start to finish a close third at this track and trip. Building nicely and is favourably drawn. MARTEDI (5) made a solid return when a 2.5L fourth at Doomben. That was his first time out of the top three and he is lightly raced with improvement. VICTORIA ROC (7) has trialled since the resuming effort so can improve.
