Noble to salute at Warrnambool

The sixth race on the Warrnambool card is a 1300m highweight Restricted 58 handicap event.

Party At Artie's recorded his first victory of 2024 when victorious by just under half-a-length in a Benchmark 58 handicap at Werribee in February.

The gelding raced over 1429m on that occasion, but has finished held in four starts since delivering a good fourth in Caulfield's Country Mile Final.

Chris Calthorpe's four-year-old drops in grade here, however preference is for NOBLE LEGEND, who arrives here on the back of a victory.

That victory saw the five-year-old break his maiden when racing on the synthetic surface at Ballarat earlier this month.

The 3.50 selection came home two-and-a-half-lengths clear of his rivals over 1200m that day and he should have no issue with the extra 100m he tackles here.

Prior to that, the pick had been beaten just over three lengths into fifth in an 1143 maiden on a soft 5 track at Geelong just under a month ago.

Notably that effort marked the gelding's first outing since January last year while the son of Lord Kanaloa has gone well on wet tracks in the past.

Campbell Rawiller's mount has a good barrier for this contest and looks up to completing a double.

Page ready for Hobart success

Hobart are set to stage a ten-race metro meeting, with the penultimate contest a 2100m Benchmark 64 handicap.

Hellot is expected to feature towards the head of the market, having registered some good efforts since completing a double here earlier this year.

The second of those wins saw the gelding triumph in a Benchmark 60 handicap over 1600m on a good 4 track.

John Keys' representative has placed second on the synthetic track at Devonport on his two most recent starts with both efforts come over 1880m.

David Pires takes the ride here with his mount, having lost out by two lengths when contesting a six runner Benchmark 64 handicap last time out.

While the six-year-old has been freshened since that effort, Hobart regular PAGE is the pick.

The mare's last five starts have come at this venue with a win and three further top-three finishes included among those efforts.

The victory came when contesting a small field track and trip Benchmark 68 handicap on a good 4 track at the end of April.

The 4.60 selection has since gone on to prove she handles softer going placing in two outings on soft 5 surfaces.

Both of those contests came when racing at Benchmark 76 level including when beaten half-a-length over 2400m on 26th May.

The pick had a couple of her rivals here behind her that day and, with Lauryn Bingley taking three kilograms off her back, she is taken to salute in this event.

Mindspace to score for Taylor

Murwillumbah's fourth race is the Grafton Cup Preview, a Benchmark 82 handicap over 2020m.

The in-form MINDSPACE takes the eye here, having registered win in three of his last four starts.

The first two of those victories came over 1900m at Armidale prior to suffering a defeat when three lengths fourth over 2100m at Tamworth on 10th May.

The 3.50 selection made amends for that defeat when winning by five-and-a-half-lengths in a small field 2005m Benchmark 74 handicap at Coffs Harbour.

The gelding raced on a heavy 10 at Coffs Harbour and, while any softening of the ground would be appreciated, he handles a sound surface.

Sally Taylor's representative has a good barrier for this event and looks up to continuing his good run of form with a win.
