Racing & Sports expert selections.
RACE 1 - LOST ILLUSIONS (3) is a very consistent campaigner who has hit the top four in nine of ten starts to date. Got the job done at the Gold Coast at the latest outing and winning hoop Cahill sticks in the saddle. Rates the testing material. ROUND THE BUOY (5) lost the rider last time out but go on the close-up second at the Sunny Coast two back. Can feature with any luck in running. KNEZE (1) has placed three of four over this trip, draws the inside alley and gets 3kg weight relief with the claim. In the mix. TORQUE LEICA STAR (4) is a last-start winner who cannot be discounted.
RACE 2 - SEBRING GIRL (2) broke through for a well-deserved victory at the latest effort and gets some weight off from the inside marble. Rates a serious threat. CENTRESTONE (4) has won around this circuit and must be respected from the Waller barn. Top-three contender on best form. BLAZEN BOOTS (5) strips fitter second-up from the spell and may earn some minor money. SATAY CHICKEN (9) best of the rest in a race with only a handful of chances.
RACE 3 - The well-related RAPID CHEVAL (15) (half to G1 winner Kovalica) was well supported on debut and just missed the placings at the Sunny Coast. Will have come on with that race experience now under the belt and where there's smoke there's fire. Keep very safe. BETTER DRAW (1) wasn't disgraced when facing the starter for the first time and Orman returns to the stirrups to navigate from the sticky draw. Can improve enough to play a role in the outcome. LARIDAE (5) has gotten better every time he has stepped out to the races and looks a genuine top-three contender based on the latest effort. MISSION POSSIBLE (6) strips fitter second-up from the break and can trouble the judge. AIMA SUN (10) disappointed last time out but go on the four solid placings prior to start the career. Worth another chance.
RACE 4 - TUFF TU MUS (3) went down by a narrow margin at the Sunny Coast on debut and is sure to have derived a stack of benefit from that day at the races. Can play a prominent role in the finish with natural improvement. SOFALA (9) has placed in all four starts to date and gets in well at the weights with the 3kg claim. In the mix. JUNGLE LAW (4) has placed around this circuit and doesn't know how to run a bad race. A must for the multiples. LET'SSHOWEM (5) next in line.
RACE 5 - SUPER DAISY (6) has hit a purple patch of form this preparation stringing three wins together on the bounce and is racing with a lot of confidence. No reason why she can't get the job done again. GIVE GIGGLES (1) is having her first run for the new stable but revved up for this with a recent trial win and any market support must be noted. GREAT BARRIER REEF (7) has a win and a second from three attempts at this sprint trip and is drawn to get a soft run from gate two. In the mix. ADALIE (9) rounds out the selections in a wide-open affair.
RACE 6 - The well-related MASTER SHOWMAN (1) (full to 4xG1 winner and stallion Trapeze Artist) was a touch disappointing last time out but go on the two strong victories to start the campaign. Has placed over this track and trip and gets 3kg weight relief with the claim. Can bounce right back to form here. FORTUNEER (11) returned in fine fashion with a solid second on the Sunny Coast and is a winner around this circuit. Strips fitter second-up and has to be included. SHOT OF WHISKEY (12) wasn't disgraced in town last time out and the form prior was full of merit. Shapes as a leading contender. ROLL UP (5) best of the rest while fresh.
RACE 7 - REDFORD (13) hasn't put a hoof wrong winning all three starts to date and looks the galloper in this field with the most upside. Gets Dolan on top to navigate from the wide draw and can keep the winning run going. CASTILLIAN (9) has been right there in all three runs this preparation and will be at his peak fourth-up from the spell. Has the ability to figure prominently. DEMON DARB (1) next in line with the 3kg claim.
RACE 8 - THE PLAYER (6) just ran into one better when resuming and will have come on with that run now under the belt. Among the leading hopes. LOVEWILLCOMELATER (1) has placed two from two at this course and distance and is yet to put in a poor one. Has to be included. ARAMINTA (17) shed the maiden tag in dominant fashion before the spell and may run a race while fresh. WASTED YOUTH (19) best of the rest in a wide-open contest.
