Racing & Sports expert selections.
RACE 1 - REAL DELUXE (3) has returned with a bang this time in, leading all the way to win by 0.6L in Saturday grade at Belmont last time out. The form out of that race has been strong and she should find the front again from an inside alley. The 2kg claim comes in handy and she looks set to bring up the hat-trick. SECRET STYLE (4) made it four wins in a row last start when winning by 0.9L at this course and distance. She's a lightly raced mare who continues to improve, and she maps for a lovely run. Fiore sticking is a big tick and she's sure to make her presence felt. HIDDEN RUBY (1) disappointed at the end of last campaign, though her prior form at this track was great. Comes into this without a trial, though she runs well fresh and she's expected to go close. PARORI (5) gets the blinkers on first time and won't be far away.
RACE 2 - QUEEN NARDI (5) may have found the trip a bridge too far second-up at Toodyay and looks as though coming back to the mile third-up will be ideal. CJP hops back in the saddle and she's got a number of high ratings over this trip last preparation. Looks set to return to winning ways. LUCKY LILY (6) bolted in over 1300m here last start and ran away with it late. The step up in trip doesn't appear an issue judging by that performance and she draws the inside again with a drop in weight. She'll no doubt put her hand up once again. NO WHISPERING (2) has been around the mark for much of this campaign but disappointed over 1760m last time out. Coming back to the mile now looks to suit and a much better effort is anticipated. ONEMOREFORLEO (3) chased home a big winner last start and has claims.
RACE 3 - PSYCHO SISTA (9) hails from a good family of winners and makes her debut for the Luke Fernie stable. She was very impressive from the front in her lone barrier trial in September and the booking of Chris Parnham is a positive lead. Can make a winning start to her career. FIRE THE GUARD (1) has had a few goes now, though he was narrowly beaten at Toodyay most recently and went close at Northam first-up this campaign. CJP hops back in the saddle and with some wiggle room for improvement in his figures, a return to his best would see him go close. AWEEMAWAY (2) is another who has had a few turns, though his recent run at this track and trip has provided some strong form lines. He's been kept up to the mark with a recent trial and if he can produce a similar effort fresh, he'll won't be far away. SNIPER'S SON (5) has switched stables since his last campaign where he took on Listed company. Worth including. LYN'S DAKOTA (7) is best of the rest.
RACE 4 - SCIENCE DEGREE (1) bumped into a sharp winner two back before a 1L defeat as favourite most recently. He draws a much better barrier this time around and the fact CJP sticks is a big tick. Open to further improvement now and he's got his hoof on the till. ULTIMATE PARADISE (3) stuck on well last start, finishing behind Science Degree on that occasion, though he does get Chris Parnham in the saddle on this occasion. Expect her to sit closer in the run this time and the extra trip should suit. Expecting sharp improvement. IFFUBLUSH (2) ended up 1.8L off a smart one most recently in a race that hinted she was back to her best. Gets 2kgs off this time and a similar performance will see her in the finish. PLEASE MIZTER (8) can continue to improve with racing and won't be far away. LORDGIVEMESTRENGTH (10) is an interesting runner out to this trip first-up as a 3YO filly. Respect any market moves.
RACE 5 - DIALLING (2) ran on strongly from the back last start to just miss first-up at Bunbury, beaten 0.6L. Fitter now and further is another tick, and he was a second-up winner last campaign. Looks to get his chance from the draw and can go one better in this event. EEVALINA (1) is better than she showed last start when finishing 3.5L off the winner over 1100m here. Her efforts over this distance prior were much better, though she will be a long way back from the draw. Watch for her storming over the top late. SECRET ATTIRE (4) impressed at the end of last campaign and has been freshened coming into this. Only 87 days between runs so she should be fit enough, plus the favourable barrier helps. Rates well and is sure to be in the finish. BLUE CAN TALK (3) tired badly first-up at Northam but she is better than she showed there. Can improve. FLOBA (7) is not to be discounted at the bottom of the weights.
RACE 6 - FAMOUS DAIN (2) draws the inside pole following a 5.3L defeat at Belmont most recently at the mile. He was good at Northam prior to that and he looks ready for the rise in trip now. Chris Parnham hopping on board is a big tick and he looks ready to return to winning ways. MORE THAN ENUFF (1) has been caught a long way back his last couple, though that shouldn't be the case from gate two today. Brad Parnham taking the ride is a positive sign and he is 1/1 at this track and trip. Can return to his best and make his presence felt. SOLDIERS CAMP (3) stuck on well last start, beaten 1.9L from a midfield position. He had to do some work early there but he draws much better this time around. Up in weight, but he's racing well and is sure to go close. LORD RANDOLPH (5) has been ticking along nicely in his last few and has claims. ELSUENO (4) can be in the finish if he returns to his best.
RACE 7 - VAST ART (10) didn't finish off that well when favourite last time out and looks well placed coming back to 1400m today. He drops right to the minimum weight and he maps to get plenty of favours under CJP. He was good in the Farnley two back and a return to that level would see him hard to beat in this. RIVER RUBICON (3) was super last start over the mile last start at Belmont and he boasts an imposing third-up record. The outside draw is a niggle, though he has proven versatile in his racing pattern. He drops in weight and rates highly. MAN CRUSH (2) got the job done in fine style last time out, kicking strongly over 1200m to win comfortably. Out to this trip is a niggle, though the form out of his last start has been good and he draws the inside. Live chance. GINGER BAKER (1) looks set to peak third-up after a bold effort in the Farnley 25 days ago. Worth plenty of thought. SENTIMENTAL HERO (8) gets right down on the minimum now and has claims.
RACE 8 - TWIST OF GOLD (5) comes into this fresh off an 87-day break after a strong ending to last campaign. She is a first-up winner in the past and she should take up the running from an inside alley. The local stable will have her firing for this and they've engaged their strike jockey. The one to beat. PLAYBALL (2) is better than what he showed most recently, beaten a long way when never in the hunt. Now a month between runs and from a better alley, he can return to something like his best and put himself in the finish. DREAM BROOK (7) got the job done first-up before a 4.5L defeat most recently here 24 days ago. CJP hops in the saddle now and she has the speed to cross from out wide. Live chance on best figures. DREAMERS NEVER DIE (1) folded up late at Belmont most recently, but he has put in better efforts than that. Getting back on top of the ground is a massive tick. SISTER KATE (6) won't be far away first-up if she can pick up where she left off.
