Racing & Sports expert selections.
RACE 1 - RIVOLI VIEW (4) put the writing on the wall here last start when beaten a head. Positive change of tactics last start when taken forward in his best run to date. In-form hoop in Pannell sticks and he can go one better now. RHINESTONE RORY (3) wasn't as effective at the latest in town but had been much better prior over this journey. Toeroek sticking is a positive and he looks the main danger. MATALIK (8) improved nicely last start at Morphettville when putting in a solid chase to just miss the frame. Will appreciate the added trip and should be nearing his peak now. Right in this. DAD'S DREAM (1) has been running on nicely late over much shorter trips. Draws kinder this time as he steps out in journey. Keeping safe.
RACE 2 - HOT STATEMENT (8) is a Written By gelding stepping out on debut for the smart juvenile stable of Richard & Chantelle Jolly. Showed positive signs in his jump-out and is drawn favourably for gun hoop Jake Toeroek. Bright start anticipated. SACRED CHORD (3) has been solid without threatening in his two runs back. Strips fitter third-up and is drawn to get all the favours with Holder taking over the steering. Can give this a shake. RADIANT KNIGHT (2) finds the maiden win elusive but has shown some positive signs. Strips rock-hard fit and deserves some thought. I RUN ON AIR (1) is a Turffontein gelding on debut for Roslyn Day. Fitter for a recent trial placing and looks among the hopes.
RACE 3 - TEARDROP ROTATION (10) returns for the Chris Bieg stable. Didn't make too much of an impact in her debut prep but was thrown in the deep end. Expected to have come on nicely during the break and gets in light at the weights with the 2kg claimer engaged. Can make a bright return. AM I THE DRAMA (1) had the drop on the leaders when resuming here last start but couldn't go on with it in the lane. Is sure to have come on with that run under the belt and is drawn to get all the favours from the inside alley. The 4kg claimer staying on gets her in very light again. URBANISE (11) is an Ilovethiscity filly stepping out on debut for Jon O'Connor. Impressed in her first trial but wasn't quite as effective in her latest when ridden more quietly. Holder stays on and she's right in the mix. ZOUNORMOUS (4) finds it tough to get off the mark but was much better last start behind an above-average maiden winner. Drops back sharply in trip and gets the blinkers on first time. Keeping safe.
RACE 4 - GRUELLING (7) has had a run of placings but put the writing on the wall last start when charging home to just miss. Strips rock-hard fit and likes this track and trip. 3kg claimer staying on gets him in well at the weights again and he takes benefit from another low draw. A lot to like. MADISON KATE (2) has been far from her best in her two runs back but showed last prep that she's an above-average galloper on her day. Strips fitter third-up and has a hot-hand hoop in Neindorf sticking. Watch for sharp improvement. PROBATE (5) continues to leave herself with too much to do when straightening. Strips fitter and gets the chance to take closer order from the inside alley. Don't dismiss. SAKASU (1) made very light work of his maiden last time at Murray Bridge. Tougher this time but he can go on with it.
RACE 5 - Open race with plenty of winning chances. DERBY DOWNS (3) warmed to his task nicely over the concluding stages when resuming at Morphettville Parks. Is sure to have come on with that run under the belt. Will likely head back from the wide alley and be saved for the final shot at them. BAY OF PORTLAND (4) was an eye-catcher fresh but failed to follow it up at the latest. Should be hitting his straps now third-up and will be making his run with Derby Downs. PERCIDIAN (1) was a barnstorming maiden winner back in June before being tucked away. Lead-up trial suggests he's come back in good order and can play a major role. MADAM JEANETTE (11) lengthened nicely to shed her maiden tag when resuming at Naracoorte. Improvement to come and is drawn softly. Don't dismiss. ASTRODEAN (2) strikes an easier assignment second-up and is a likely improver. Don't overlook.
RACE 6 - SUPER VALENTINE (2) is yet to strike through this time in but is knocking on the door. The form around him is stacking up and he should be hitting his straps now fourth-up. 2kg claimer goes on to help aid the big weight. The one to beat. OFCOURSE I WILL (11) closed off nicely to get the bob last start at Mt Gambier. Tougher this time but is open to further improvement. Key chance. ONE SKY ABOVE US (8) dug deep to score by a lip two back in town. Nowhere near as effective last start but can bounce back sharply. MUFFLA (7) was much better last start when finishing second here. Strips fitter and is among the chances.
RACE 7 - LIMBERING (8) without doing much winning she's ticking along superbly. Will enjoy the drop in grade and has more than enough early dash to offset the wide draw quickly. Will prove tough to reel in on the quick backup. BOOMSONG (2) was better second-up but tired late. Is another that strikes an easier assignment and should be nearing his peak now. Holder sticking from a kinder draw reads favourably. Main danger. HATEECH (5) returns. Only has the one fresh win to her name, usually getting better the deeper into the prep she goes. Can cross early from the wide draw to race prominently. Certainly one to consider on best form. SHADOWFAX (4) also returns and is a noted fresh performer. Is aided at the weights with the 2kg claimer engaged. In the mix.
