Racing & Sports expert selections.
RACE 1 - GOING NUCLEAR (2) has hit a purple patch of form with a win and three placings from his past four outings and strikes a winnable contest here. Saves his best form for this distance range and should be right there when the whips are cracking. BO BO BEWARE (4) has placed two from three at this track and trip and gets some weight relief with the 1.5kg claim. Looms as the main danger. RELEASE LE MISSILE (3) got a well-deserved victory here last time out and will have derived a stack of confidence from that win. Top-three candidate on that sort of form. The well-related BRASCO (1) (half to G2 winner Blueberry Hill) is another last-start winner who is a must for the multiples. TORQUE ESPAGNA (8) next in line.
RACE 2 - UNDERRATED (3) hasn't done much wrong with a win and two seconds from three outings to start the career and looks the runner in this field with the most upside. Should be going very close again. WOODSTOCK ROCK (4) has a win and a second from two starts around this circuit and is yet to put in a poor one. Bold showing expected. TIME TO PROPHET (1) strips fitter third-up from the spell and should be ready to peak now. Cannot be left out of calculations. SCRUB CHAIN (2) resumed in winning order at Rockhampton and will be ready to go right on with the job now, Worth including. CARE TAKER (6) broke the maiden status last time out and may earn some minor money.
RACE 3 - The well-related BINGHAMTON (2) (half to G2 winner and G1 placed Derryn) has been in the mix in both starts since joining the new stable and this is not an overly strong affair. Draws low for Stanley and should be right there at the business end. PAUL EDWARD (5) has hit the top-five at his past five outings including placing here at the latest effort. Top-three aspirations. ROTHFURY (8) is drawn to get all the favours from the inside alley and is worth some thought for the exotics. ICONIC PRINCE (3) rounds out the selections.
RACE 4 - THE HAIRDRESSER (7) has been knocking on the door of another victory hitting the top-four in all four outings this preparation and hoop Stanley sticks in the irons. Boasts a win around this circuit and should be right there when the judge calls a halt. ME TIME (12) shed the maiden tag here at the latest effort and will have derived a bunch of confidence from that victory. Can go right on with the job now. ROC DE RUSSIAN (3) doesn't win out of turn but is usually thereabouts and only needs some luck from the sticky alley to feature in the finish. HOLY CROWN (13) saves her best form for this distance range and may earn some minor money. SHEKINAH (11) best of the rest in a wide open affair.
RACE 5 - ACROPHOBIC (1) grows a leg for rider Stanley who has three wins and a placing from just five steers and will strip fitter second-up from the break. Drawn to get a cosy run in transit from gate two and looks the hardest to toss. BENCOOLEN (4) is one from one around this circuit and will be rock-hard fit for this. Respect with Butler on board. CAVENTE (5) saluted over this track and trip at the latest effort and can play a role in the finish. MILO MAN (2) strips fitter third-up from the spell and is next in line.
RACE 6 - TRICKETEER (1) has a handy record around this circuit with a win and two seconds from five starts and rarely puts in a poor one. Will be at peak fitness for this and should give this a mighty shake. LAMENTUM (5) has hit a rich vein of form with two wins and five placings from his past seven outings and gets in well at the weights with the 1.5kg claim. Rates a serious contender. WIN AND TONIC (3) has filled a drum at his past five starts and strips fitter third-up from the spell. Definite top-three credentials. Former Victorian RICH DIVINITY (4) showed ability at his first local outing and looks one for the multiples. HYDE PARK (2) best of the rest in a race with only a handful of chances.
RACE 7 - MADAM BORODINA (11) was an impressive winner when having her first run for the new stable and may have turned the corner now. Gets 1.5kg weight relief with the claim and can make her presence felt again. TAHKIAN BUBBLES (9) has a solid record around this circuit with a win and two placings from four attempts and is yet to miss a drum in four first-up efforts. May run a big race while fresh. NO LOVE LOST (6) has placed over this track and trip and rates a genuine top-three hope on best form. SENSATIONABULL (5) resumes here but the form he showed when last in work was good enough to feature in a race like this. Draws the inside alley and must come into calculations while fresh. LOVES AFFECTION (12) best of the rest for Team Jokic.
