We head to Randwick for Saturday’s ten race card.

No feature racing this Saturday at Randwick but the card does feature some promising imports who could make their presence felt in the Spring.

Of those, the headline act is Bear On The Loose, backed off the map at his local debut for Waterhouse & Bott and saluting with a tough win in good time.

Takes on some more capable types here and whilst clearly the horse to beat, he's a real 'take it or leave it' type bet at even money, for which we'll opt for the latter.

It's actually the horse Bear beat that creates some betting appeal with another import in Don Diego De Vega who stays in Bm78 grade having closed off well for second there, running to 102 on the R&S scale.

He stays at 1800m here in Race 5 which I think is the only slight knock but finds an easier race here, and has plenty of scope to improve.

French racing enthusiasts will quickly note that three starts back he finished third to Ace Impactt at Chantilly, starting second favourite to beat the subsequent Arc De Triomphe winner and running to 103 on the R&S scale. If that's not off-season Bm78 form at Randwick…

Don sets up nicely here from barrier four where Collett should be able to keep tabs on the leader I'mintowin who is also rated around that 101 mark, without the upside Don possesses.

For the value play we're going with a similar theme of an import in the Australian Bloodstock colours, by Lope De Vega, where Lord Of Biscay might be worth a throw at the stumps in Race 8.

He's only had the five starts, winning two, and tackling a couple of other strong races when not measuring up.

He was last seen at Sandown, starting $9.50 to beat the 121 rated Chindit in a Listed Race and gets in well at the weights here with just 52.5kg against some horses that while in form, aren't rated all that higher than Lord Of Biscay, who has trialled quite well for his Australian debut.
