Midweek racing from Sandown Lakeside and Warwick Farm and we’ve got a horse to follow from each.
Sandown Lakeside Race 1 – Jammin Jimmy
Nice debut from this Mitchell Freedman trained gelding, who came up quite short in betting initially before drifting out a bit. He sat midfield and wide throughout in what was a strongly run race, producing one of the better time figures for the card which is always good to see for maiden grade. The winner got the dream run through the inside gap and I liked Jimmy's toughness late to hold second. He shouldn't be a maiden for long.
Warwick Farm Race 2 – Ducasse
Comfortably the win of the day at Warwick Farm by Ducasse who looked a moral on ratings and saluted as so. He was beaten a long neck at Group 2 level before a spell and this was the easiest race he'd ever faced, able to sit back last in the field of seven and round them up easily in the end, scoring by 2.4 lengths. It'll be interesting to see where he's placed now because stakes grade will certainly beckon, but if they were to take him through the grades and run in a Bm72 on a Saturday next, he'd be well worth following.
