Sabaj has taken out the $500,000 Cranbourne Cup by 0.75 lengths in impressive fashion, defeating Enxuto and Holymanz who finished second and third respectively.

The Mick Price and Michael Kent Jr trained four-year-old was given a beautiful ride by jockey Beau Mertens, setting his horse up for success.

The gelding exploded at the 200m mark down the Cranbourne straight, hitting the lead with 100m to go.

Enxuto tried his best to run Sabaj down, but the son of Bouzy proved supreme.

Sabaj now has five wins from eight starts, and this four-year-old could become anything.

SENTrack’s Josh Jenkins had nothing but praise for the “too good” Cranbourne Cup winner.

“Sabaj was too good!” Jenkins said on SENTrack’s Saturday Trackside.

“Enxuto unlucky, Holymanz potentially a little bit less unlucky.

“Sabaj got a beautiful run and trip in the race, and he was too good.

“Mick Price is celebrating.

“The Cranbourne Cup has been run and won (by Sabaj).”
