“Still learning her craft”: Why Zipping Classic winner will only improve

The Group 2 Zipping Classic was ran on Saturday and won by the Grahame Begg-trained She's a Hustler.

The five-year-old mare won the feature race at Caulfield by 0.35 lengths, defeating Light Infantry Man and Etna Rosso who finished second and third respectively.

Ciaron Maher's Light Infantry Man led the race, like he did in the 2025 Cox Plate, yet he ran out of gas as the son of Ace High mowed him down with 50m to go.

She's A Hustler now has six victories from 10 starts, and in those four races where she didn't win, the bay came second!

Begg was thoroughly impressed with his mare's Group 2 triumph and believes his horse is only getting better and better.

“She’s still learning her race craft... she used to be quite aggressive so now she’s learning how to relax,” Begg told RSN's Correct Weight.

“The thing about her, she’s able to absorb all of that pressure. They are letting us develop her... not pushing her too hard too early.

“(At the start) she didn’t know how to race, she was all over the place, but she always showed good ability in the trials.

“It’ll be more likely she’ll go to Brisbane and campaign over there.”

With Begg confident that She's A Hustler will only continue to improve, it's scary to think about her future.
