When the 2025 Oaks favourite is resuming

The 2025 Crown Oaks favourite Getta Good Feeling is ready to come back for another campaign.

After being rolled on Oaks Day, the three-year-old filly has been given a decent rest by trainer Danny O’Brien.

In fact, the reason why the daughter of So You Think hasn’t resumed yet is because she raced twice on Melbourne Cup week across 2000m in the Wakeful and 2500m in the Crown Oaks.

“She obviously had a busy enough spring with those two runs (on) Melbourne Cup Week in the Wakeful and the Oaks,” O’Brien told RSN’s Correct Weight.

“So, she wasn't really going to be ready to get up for a race like (the Desirable Stakes on Saturday) or an Angus Armonasco (next Saturday).”

Regarding when the bay will resume, the trainer revealed that Getta Good Feeling will run first-up in the million-dollar Inglis Sprint (1200m) on Australian Guineas Day.

He then stated that the Grand Final for his filly’s autumn will be the Group 1 Australasian Oaks (2000m) at Morphettville.

“She's in good shape. We'll see her first-up on Australian Guineas Day, which is Saturday week,” O’Brien said.

“There's a 1200m Inglis race that day for three-year-olds, that'll be her kick-off.

“The intention is to have a couple of runs in Melbourne and then head towards Adelaide for that 2000m Group 1 Oaks over there.”

The market for the Australasian Oaks isn’t open yet, but Getta Good Feeling is currently $17 for the Caulfield Cup and $34 for the Cox Plate with many bookmakers.
