Mick Price, the co-trainer of Big Sky, has confirmed that his two-year-old will be scratched from the Group 1 Blue Diamond (1200m) on Saturday.

The son of Bivouac was the favourite for the $2 million sprint before his scratching, but now stablemate Guest House is the new favourite.

Breaking the news on SENTrack & RSN's Giddy Up, Michael Kent Jnr's co-trainer explained the decision to scratch his horse from the prestigious two-year-old sprint.

“I'm going to scratch that horse, Big Sky," Price stated.

“I'm not happy with him this morning… I just had a little canter this morning with him, and his action is not what it should be.

“We know by having a look at the stride data on Tuesday morning - his stride is just a little bit shorter than what it should be, (by) 10 centimetres.

“But I was more looking at his knees this morning. We have X-rayed (and found) a little bit of immaturity near front, off front (of his knees). There's enough to suggest I need a second opinion on what's going on in that knee.

“We think we can see a small little flake of bone in there.

“That horse will not be running on Saturday, he'll be going to the paddock.”

Racing Victoria Stewards also scratched the Ben, Will & JD Hayes-trained Torture following veterinary advice.

All other 16 acceptors were passed suitable to race.
