Bronco set to face club punishment after 3am police incident
By SEN
Just hours after his side claimed bragging rights against cross-town rivals the Dolphins, Broncos winger Josiah Karapani was getting a talking to by Queensland police.
Brisbane emerged 26-12 winners in the local derby at Suncorp Stadium.
But hours later there was another PR setback in what has been a week to forget for the club.
Earlier this week assistant coach Ben Te'o quit his role with immediate effect after a reported verbal altercation with head coach Michael Maguire.
A statement released by the Broncos said: "The Brisbane Broncos confirm that Josiah Karapani has received a Queensland Police Service infringement notice for the offence of ‘Public Nuisance’ and a banning notice after police spoke to him in Ann St, Fortitude Valley around 3.30am this morning.
"The NRL Integrity Unit has been informed."
Following the issuing of an infringement notice which saw a fine of $1001, it has since been reported by News Corp that the Broncos are considering dropping Karapani for this week's match against the Titans.
More to come.
