Gator's Game Plan: Gately's best at Caulfield & Randwick (04/04)
By David Gately
David Gately has provided his best bets for Caulfield and Randwick on Saturday.
See Gator's Game Plan below:
BET OF THE DAY (Melbourne)
CAULFIELD - Race 2 No.3 - TERILEE - Ran well behind subsequent G2 winner fresh then easy work Hillside beating Trial By Press clearly, that girl then tested a few of these. First go 1600m but shapes ok.
EACH-WAY BET OF THE DAY (Sydney)
RANDWICK - Race 8 No.15 - SHEZA ALIBI - Very exciting filly who just gave subsequent G1 winner (and key rival) windburn (gap 3rd) in G1 Guineas and now meets him 1kg better. She ran exceptional time/ splits. Her 2 x mile wins have been.. Brilliant!! Star!!!
VALUE BET OF THE DAY
CAULFIELD - Race 5 No.5 - PALTROW MISS - Smart debut win NZ. Resumed Hillside and beat another gifted one (and subsequent impressive winner) Gold Coast Belle with key rival Miss Revealing (who was 2.8L off Sheza Alibi in Spring) clearly behind. Value $7?
TJ Smith
Race 7 - G1 TJ Smith - WFA - 1200m
1 - 7 - TENTYRIS - Flew over them fresh at 1000m then had plenty against in G1 Newmarket. His G1 Coolmore Stks win in Spring was brilliant running some 5-6L after than older horses on the day.
2 - 1 - JIMMYSSTAR - He just never made it to the right spot fresh and happy to be forgiving. His poor runs have been pretty much non-existent for 18-months. Drawn to take a closer trial here. Not sacking!
3 - 2 - BRIASA - Good return given big weight and he is a 2nd-up specialist. He beat Jimmysstar when 2nd-up last prep. Won this race 2nd-up last year too.
4 - 6 - JOLIESTAR - Two for two this prep and beat Newmarket winner (who beat Tentyris) fresh. A must include.
5 - 3 - GIGA KICK - Ridden to warm fresh then outsped staying at 1000m 2nd-up but that last 100m was very good! Now gets to the 1200m. Likes Randwick too. He can win.
