DOBBINAIR (Race 9, No. 10)

RACE 1 - 11:52AM Croser Handicap (2014 METRES)

STRAAND DEAL won consecutive races in October/November last year and was beaten 1.77 lengths behind Grand Omaha first-up at Caulfield on March 18 and then jumped a $4.60 favourite beaten 3.16 lengths behind Bring Forth there last time. TYUSIX was luckless in the Port Lincoln Cup three runs back and then beaten 2.26 lengths on the Parks behind Burning Bright before going to Ballarat on April 3 where she was beaten 2.06 lengths behind Bold Strike. She should be in the mix here. EISMOND is a Japanese import who scored a 1.25 length Stawell win first-up in Australia for Andrew Bobbin and looks perfectly placed from a good barrier. TALISAY was placed behind Annihilate on the Parks on February 28. She got a mile back last time when beaten 9.93 lengths in 7th behind Scandalize last time but can improve sharply going up in trip. ROMANS LUCK is first-up for Garret Lynch and was a Sandown winner over 2400m last February. He was second in a recent Balaklava trial and can run well from a good barrier. AITCH D’AMICO draws a nice gate and has been around the mark.

SELECTIONS: 4 STRAAND DEAL, 6 Tyusix, 7 Eismond, 5 Talisay
PLAY: Something on STRAAND DEAL, saver on TYUSIX

RACE 2 - 12:27PM Sportsbet Get On Extra Handicap (1050 METRES)

BEYOND MYSTI comes out of the Listed Redelva where she was beaten 4.52 lengths behind Regeneration. Jake Toeroek rides, and she draws an inside gate. Stablemate ARTISTIC ANGEL was a 1.67-length Murray Bridge winner last time, and she should be in the mix in a race like this. The third of the Jolly runners is SKADOOSH, who was good behind stablemate Mostly For Show in the Rebel Raider Final back on November 22. She draws a gate to improve on her last start when beaten 5.49 lengths behind Bred Em’ All on the Parks. OMAHA DAWN was a good winner on the Parks track before she was beaten 1.31 lengths behind Swiftie Harriet here last time. That’s good form for this. ODESSA was easy in the market and beaten 0.16 lengths in that race. She draws a sticky gate but looks well placed here. IMMINANCE was a Sale winner on October 26 and has had two jump-outs ahead of her return. She has won here previously and draws a nice gate. IN LOVE was on speed and stuck on well beaten 2.19 lengths behind Pure Bliss on the Parks. REINE OF NINE was a $3.70 favourite when beaten 5.01 lengths behind Real Deluxe at Murray Bridge, and stablemate MY RUBY was beaten 5.41 lengths in the same race.

SELECTIONS: 8 BEYOND MYSTI, 2 Omaha Dawn, 4 Odessa, 3 Imminance
PLAY: Backing BEYOND MYSTI

RACE 3 - 1:02PM Sportsbet Handicap (1050 METRES)

HIGH ON THE HILL was a Kilmore maiden winner as a $1.35 favourite before stepping up in class, beaten 1.5 lengths behind Nostra Belle in the VGold Dash at Caulfield last time. He draws a nice barrier and looks perfectly placed here by Ciaron Maher. SNALLYGASTER was placed on debut before resuming with a 1.82 length Oakbank win, beating Juxtapose. He draws out but looks to have plenty of upside. Stablemate HOT STATEMENT won consecutive races here in October/November and has trialled up OK, he should run well from an inside gate. DREAMS FULFILLED flashed home when beaten 0.59 lengths behind Kick Your Knees Up on the Parks. ROUND TWO had good specking that race and came from the back to be beaten 1.29 lengths. ALAA PLENTY was a winner here back on March 9 and ran OK beaten 3.55 lengths in 6th behind Swiftie Harrier last time, that form is solid for this. MURPH won consecutive city races last time in work and has trialled OK for his return. RICH D’AMORE resumes and is two from two first-up. BRAVE ACTION ran well behind Real Deluxe at Murray Bridge last time and draws well with the claim.

SELECTIONS: 7 HIGH ON THE HILL, 8 Snallygaster, 6 Dreams Fulfilled, 11 Round Two
PLAY: Backing HIGH ON THE HILL

RACE 4 - 1:37PM David 'DT' Thomas Memorial Provincial Pathways Final (1800 METRES)

IN THAT MODE has been impressive since joining the Luke O’Connor stable and made it two wins in succession when he was a 1.72 length winner over WINE BARRON at Gawler last time. He draws well in a middle gate. BARGAIN BOY was a winner on the Parks two runs back before he was beaten 4.08 lengths behind McWoody in the Listed Port Adelaide Guineas. That’s good form for a race like this, and the 1800m trip won’t be an issue. ROUSING REFRAIN comes through that race and was a Balaklava winner prior, beating RIKKI RIKKARDO. MIDLIFE CRISIS has won three of his past four and was too good for BOLTED IN. SAVSONIC is racing well and made it two wins in succession at Oakbank last time, beating SHAKESPEARE and JOVIALE.

SELECTIONS: 6 IN THAT MODE, 7 Bargain Boy, 1 Savsonic, 9 Rousing Refrain
PLAY: Something on IN THAT MODE each-way

RACE 5 - 2:12PM Winning Edge Presentations Adelaide In Autumn Series Final (1600 METRES)

TROPICAL HOUSE has won four placed three of her 10 starts and was very good through the line when beaten 2.25 lengths behind Scandalize here on April 11. She draws a perfect gate and gets Jamie Melham in the saddle. She’s the horse to beat. MARACOURT caught the eye running 2nd behind Fine Future at Oakbank and was beaten 4.34 lengths behind that horse here last week. STIRRUP CUP comes through both of those races, beaten 4.22 lengths in 7th last week and should be ready to peak third-up here. JILLADORA has won two of her past three, the latest beating STARTS NOW, who strips fitter for one run back and has been placed all three second-up runs. INEXORABLE was beaten 4.88 lengths in that race and gets Craig Williams here. CHIPSON was beaten 5.97 lengths in that race but does look ready to improve. ANNIHILATE was a winner on the Parks five runs back and draws an inside gate, stablemate PHINEAS ran OK when 4th behind In That Mode last time at Gawler. Chris Bieg also has VOLTAGE POINT, who is a four-time winner here.

SELECTIONS: 10 TROPICAL HOUSE, 1 Maracourt, 3 Stirrup Cup, 5 Chipson
PLAY: Keen on TROPICAL HOUSE

RACE 6 - 2:47PM HKJC World Pool Port Adelaide Cup (2518 METRES)

SEE WHAT I SEE is a winner at her only start here at Morphettville in the 2024 Listed Centaurea Stakes over 2019m. Her four runs this time around have all been very good. She was beaten 0.15 lengths in 2nd behind Paradise City first-up at Flemington over 1400m and then beaten 0.9 lengths in 3rd behind Ahha Ahha in the Group 3 Matron Stakes there over 1600m on March 7. She sat on speed beaten 1.5 lengths in 2nd behind Ambassadorial in the Group 3 Easter Cup at Caulfield before she led when beaten 1.55 lengths in 4th behind Kings Valley in the Listed Mornington Cup over 2400m last start. BANKERS CHOICE was beaten 8.95 lengths in 16th behind Half Yours in the Caulfield Cup before a spell. He resumed and was $61-$41 when beaten 1.85 lengths behind Birdman in the Group 2 Peter Young Stakes and then made ground, beaten 2.94 lengths behind Ambassadorial in the Group 3 Easter Cup at Caulfield. He was $15-$12 when beaten 4.3 lengths behind Kings Valley in the Mornington Cup over 2400m last time and should give this a shake. SIR KINGSFORD won three in succession this time last year, culminating in a career peak winning this race, where he led throughout to defeat Basilinna. His form this time around has only been fair; he was well-backed and looked to have his chance running 4th beaten 3.78 lengths in the Onkaparinga Cup at Oakbank before he was back on the Morphettville Parks track and led throughout to beat Burning Bright last start. TWILIGHT ELEGANCE is a lightly-raced mare who has won three of 11 starts and was a 2500m winner in BM66 at Pakenham two runs back and then beaten 2.2 lengths in 5th behind The Western Front at Caulfield. Jamie Melham rides from a sticky gate but she should be in the mix. BURNING BRIGHT has been racing in great form and was a winner on the Morphettville Parks track over 2275m four runs back. She was sent out favourite when beaten 5.46 lengths behind SAVATOFF in the Onkaparinga Cup before she was narrowly beaten by Sir Kingsford on the Parks last time. She draws out, but won’t be far away. OXFORD BLUE was 2nd in that race before being beaten 5.51 lengths behind Sir Kingsford as a $3.50 favourite last time out.

SELECTIONS: 2 SEE WHAT I SEE, 1 Banker’s Choice, 3 Sir Kingsford, 9 Twilight Elegance
PLAY: Backing SEE WHAT I SEE

RACE 7 - 3:25PM Adelaide Galvanising Industries Sir John Morphett Adelaide Guineas (1600 METRES)

GOLD COAST BELLE has three wins and two second placings from her five starts and was runner-up behind Paltrow Miss at Sandown three starts back before outing together successive Melbourne wins. She was a 2.5 length Sandown winner on March 25 and followed up with another impressive 2.25 length Caulfield win last time out. AMEDEI is a lightly-raced filly in the Price/Kent Jnr stable who caught the eye at odds when beaten 3.96 lengths in 6th behind Salty Pearl in the Group 2 Fillies Classic at Sandown back in the spring. She was a $1.65 favourite first-up from a spell and settled back before recording a 0.3 length win at Seymour in a 1300m maiden. Jamie Melham goes on from a good gate, and the stable has won two of the past four editions, including last year with On Display. TIPTOP TORI is a progressive filly who was 3rd in that race, while YELLOWJACKET was a $3.20 chance and finished 4th, beaten by 2.33 lengths. ROHESIA made it two wins in succession with an impressive 1.49 length win in the Listed Nitschke Stakes on the Morphettville Parks track over 1400m last start, beating MORE THAN HOPE. She was a good Ballarat winner prior, and her Victorian form was solid. BOOTLEGGER won the Morphettville Guineas three starts back, beating Cannae, and was then placed behind Mostly For Show here over the 1600m before he was game running 2nd, beaten 1.13 lengths behind McWoody last time in the Listed Port Adelaide Guineas over the 1800m. He comes back to the mile and should be in the mix. MOSTLY FOR SHOW was beaten 6.5 lengths in that race but defeated flying Brant prior and has won a trial since. Stablemate COMMON INTEREST was back to winning form at Murray Bridge last time when a 1.89 length winner as a $2.25 favourite. FREEDOM FLAME comes out of the Australasian Oaks beaten 7.63 lengths behind Panova and was game running 2nd behind Mating Call in the G3 Auraria two runs back. OAK PARK MADDISON was 6th in that race. ONE MORE SONG was well backed to win the Shillabeer at Oakbank last time.

SELECTIONS: 7 GOLD COAST BELLE, 13 Amedei, 6 Rohesia, 1 Bootlegger
PLAY: Backing GOLD COAST BELLE

RACE 8 - 4:05PM Thomas Farms South Australian Derby (2518 METRES)

ACCIDENTAL BID is a massive watch, a European import who has only just turned three. He was a $3.20 favourite winning first-up in maiden company over 1600m for the Ciaron Maher stable at Pakenham on a soft track on March 19, and then was $3.70-$3.20 when he ploughed through a heavy track for an impressive 7.75 lengths win there last time over 2000m. He’s drawn perfectly; he just needs to gain a run as the first emergency. Stablemate AMAZAKE is still a maiden but ran 4th in the G2 Alister Clark Stakes at Caulfield before he was beaten 1.45 lengths behind SINGLE CHOICE, who has won two of his past three, both at Caulfield, beating ARABIAN PRINCE by 1.25 lengths there last time and maps to get a nice run from barrier five. SILVASISTA is building an impressive record with three wins from her seven starts. She went to Donald to win over 220m two runs back and then was given a good run midfield on a strong tempo before she booted away from rivals to win the Listed VRC St Leger at Flemington last weekend by 3.5 lengths. The stable won this race with another filly, Coco Sun, two years ago, and she is sure to be in the mix. ENGINE OF WAR was placed first-up from a spell behind Savitri at Caulfield over 1500m and then beaten 4.46 lengths there in a BM74 behind Makhtalif over 1800m. There was plenty to like about his run in Group 3 Chairman’s Stakes here last week, where he settled back and worked through the line strongly to be beaten 2.23 lengths behind Impulsive Reaction, and the rise to 2500m looks ideal. IMPULSE REACTION was big odds coming from off the speed to win that race, FLYING BRANT was game in that race, beaten 1.49 and draws out. GENEVA brings some very good New Zealand form here and has won three of 12 starts, the latest at Matamata on January 23. He was beaten 4.1 lengths in 6th behind Autumn Glory in the Group 2 Waikato Guineas three runs back and then was sent out a $22 chance when beaten 1.6 lengths in 3rd behind Road To Paris in the Group 1 New Zealand Derby. He was back to winning form as a $2.70 favourite beating Circus Trix at Trentham over 2100m last time out on March 28, and profiles like a horse who should be right in the mix here. STRICTLY BUSINESS shapes as the big improver. She won the VRC Oaks over 2500m back in the spring and should be ready to fire after three runs back from a spell. She was beaten 5.15 lengths first-up behind Getta Good Feeling and then well beaten in the Country Oaks at Ballarat. Her Australasian Oaks run last weekend was a run to forgive after she found trouble. This is the race they have set her for, and she draws to get a perfect run from an inside gate. KAYE JAY comes out of the ATC Derby beaten 4.48 lengths in 4th behind Green Spaces and was placed in the G2 Alister Clark Stakes at Caulfield prior. He gets Mark Zahra. SAVISTANTA comes through the same race beaten 11.32 lengths and was runner-up in the G2 Alister Clark Stakes at Caulfield prior. CANNAE was beaten 1.4 lengths behind McWoody in the Listed Port Adelaide Guineas two runs back and runner-up behind Bootlegger in the Listed Morphettville Guineas prior. WIGMORE worked home OK first-up in the G3 Chairman’s Stakes last week, stablemate KAZARU comes out of the Oaks beaten 6.25 lengths behind Panova but she draws out.

SELECTIONS: 17 ACCIDENTAL BID, 15 Silvasista, 8 Engine Of War, 6 Geneva
PLAY: Keen on ACCIDENTAL BID if he gains a start

RACE 9 - 4:40PM Sportsbet Fast Form Festival State Sprint Series Final (1200 METRES)

DOBBINAIR has been racing well without a lot of luck and forget he went around last week when he was badly held-up, beaten 7.7 lengths in 10th behind an impressive Vangogh Bankcheque. The blinkers come off from an inside gate, and he does look hard to beat with any luck. STREETCAR APOLLO has won three and been placed three of his six runs this time in work and was beaten 1.81 lengths behind Fine Future in the Vintage at Oakbank last time; that form has stood up well since. Stablemate DECLARED was a $4.40 favourite when beaten 1.09 lengths in 4th behind HIGH ON SUGAR here two runs back but faces a wide gate with Craig Williams riding. PALM OF JUMEIRAH was back to winning form at Oakbank, beating Jahangir, and must be respected. Stablemate NICISH has been around the mark and draws a nice gate with Jamie Melham riding. MORRIS MINOR ran well first-up and was beaten 2.66 lengths in 4th behind Swiftie Harriet here last time. CLARENCE has been racing well and was back to winning form on the Parks last time as a $7 chance, beating TOSEN WATER, who was game in defeat, beaten 0.8 lengths, and draws a nice barrier. ACAPELLA MOON made ground beaten 1.21 lengths in 4th in that race. METRICAL worked home well beaten 2.08 lengths in that race and strips fitter here. I CATCHEM FOX ran well in that race, beaten 2.68 lengths along with CREEK, who was beaten 3.41 lengths in 9th. GINGER SINNER comes here second up and was well beaten in that race, but draws a good barrier.

SELECTIONS: 10 DOBBINAIR, 1 Streetcar Apollo, 12 Palm Of Jumeirah, 11 Nicish
PLAY: Keen on DOBBINAIR each-way at the $8
