Thursday best bets from Luke & Hyland (13/08)

By SENTrack

Cam Luke & Sam Hyland have your Thursday sorted on Trackside.

The lads have taken a close look at Ballarat Synthetic, Gosford, Moree & Mt Isa in a bid to find the family some winners.

See their best bets below:👇

Cam Luke

MOE

Race 4 | 4. Koko

There is no reason that today isn't the day that this mare wins. She was pretty good last start in a decent race but she has to turn these nice races into a win. Heavy track not an issue and fourth up she was ok in fourth prep in a good maiden. Stays at the 1000 and with a superstar jockey in the seat, today is the day!

Race 6 | 4. Ataegina

Hits a much easier race today than last start and does it fourth up where fitness will be at her best. Botched the start at Flemington in a contest way too deep for her. She enjoys the slop and since she will get back anyway the gate is no issue. BR always rides this girl well and I expect the same today. She is my best of the day at Moe.

Race 7 | 3. Russian Front

Probably should have finished closer in town last start without being annoyed down the straight. Moe and the HT isnt a concern and staying at the 1200 works and he always runs well fourth up. These apprentice races can sometimes be a little messy so HS will need to find a bit of cover but being drawn wide isn't a concern with how I expect the track to be playing by this stage. RF going to be very hard to beat back to this class!

NEWCASTLE

Race 2 | 11. Simple Pleasures

Didn't do much on debut but has trialled up well twice and id say improvement is going to be obvious today. Comes back to the 900 and from the gate I expect her to go forward. Seems like a horse who will enjoy the GT and in a race that’s easy than the last start, I can see this horse running really well.

Race 7 | 8. Divine Secrets

Has trialled well without being asked to do a huge amount and liked her through the line. She has won 1st up before. CS sticks after riding the trial and I like that. Ran really well last prep in better races than this and outside of Asialh it's a skinny race. DS can stalk the speed (Felis / Herman / Tainui) and will look the winner for a long time and I do think she is classy enough to beat these.

Sam Hyland

MOE

Race 6 | 2. Count Of Toulouse

Is effective on heavy ground and has had a slight freshen, he is strong at the trip and looks a super hope.

NEWCASTLE

Race 5 | 8. Plume

Will be improved from the first preparation and has looked good in trials, drawn to get a sweet run and the big track will suit well.

ROCKHAMPTON

Race 3 | 5. Next Stop Jupiter

Showed ability at her first run and won the trial in good style, looks a great chance here first up.

All the best punters!
