With the Spring Carnival fast approaching, the SEN Track Giddy Up team have started putting their money where their mouth is, with Gareth Hall, David Gately, Ben Caluzzi and Mick Gannon each handed $200 to spend on futures bets.

Several runners have attracted support from multiple members of the team, while others have emerged as early plays at what could prove to be generous futures prices.

One of the strongest points of agreement is around Skua, who has been identified as a horse to follow towards the Victoria Derby.

Gareth Hall and Mick Gannon have both taken $50 win bets on Skua for the three-year-old feature, with the colt also receiving a strong endorsement from Godolphin Managing Director Andy Makiv.

With three respected opinions already lining up behind him, Skua shapes as one of the more popular early Derby selections among the Giddy Up team.

Another horse attracting plenty of confidence is Well Written, who has quickly established herself as a major spring prospect following strong reports from New Zealand trainer Stephen Marsh.

David Gately has included her in a $100 multi alongside Ka Ying Rising in The Everest and Sheza Alibi in the Golden Eagle, while Ben Caluzzi has separately backed her for the Epsom Handicap.

Mick Gannon has also included Well Written in a $50 treble alongside Global Goal in the Flight Stakes and King Of The Sea in the Metropolitan.

That makes Well Written one of the most heavily supported horses across the futures plays, with three members of the team finding their way into the market around her.

Oliveanotherday is another horse attracting significant confidence from Caluzzi, who has put $100 on the horse in the Manikato Stakes.

Caluzzi believes the upcoming Heath Stakes could have a major impact on the horse's futures price.

“I think he shortens dramatically when he wins the Heath this Saturday", Caluzzi said.

The logic is simple, should Oliveanotherday produce a strong performance this weekend, Caluzzi expects the horse's Manikato quote to contract significantly, making the current price one worth taking now.

Yellow Jersey is another horse firmly on Hall's radar, with the promising galloper featuring in a $50 win multi covering both the Might & Power Stakes and Underwood Stakes.

Gareth has also taken an early position on Bangkok Hottie for the Flight Stakes, while Goodie Two Shoes has been backed for the Melbourne Cup.

There is also plenty of interest in the staying features, with Gately taking a $25 double on Green Spaces and Wine Dark Sea for the Caulfield Cup, while Defiantly and Trustyourinstinct have been linked in another $25 double for the Melbourne Cup.

Mick Gannon has gone after the three-year-old features with Stormy Marco in the Caulfield Guineas and Portinari in the Thousand Guineas, both receiving $50 win investments.

With each of the boys given $200 to play with, the futures challenge has produced a diverse range of approaches, from straight win bets to ambitious multi-leg plays.

And with several horses backed by multiple members of the team, the next few months will determine whether the boys have found the value before the wider market catches up.
