NZ Racing tips: Jayne Ivil's Wednesday best at Tauranga (14/10)
By SENTrack & RSN
New Zealand form analyst Jayne Ivil has given her best bets for racing in NZ this Wednesday.
On SENTrack & RSN's Giddy Up, Ivil gave her thoughts on the Tauranga meeting.
See her best bets below:
Race 5 Maiden 1600m
Top 4: 11 - 1 - 6 - 10
Passion ’N’ Pride looked good winning two trials prior to her fresh up run at Te Rapa where she finished 2nd beaten less than a length. The Darci Brahma mare worked to hold a spot from an inside draw and eventually held the trail; she came off heels at the 300m and was tough to the line. A repeat performance from this lightly raced mare would have her figuring here. Artful Dodger has been racing well at 1600m and was brave after sitting on speed last start, he brings the best last start figures into this race. Unswayed trialled super prior to a great debut, disappointed second up but the blinkers now go on.
Race 8 BM65 1400m
Top 4: 4 - 10 - 7 - 2
Bethany Dee finished last season in some strong races and has been runner up twice in two runs since resuming. Third up and out to 1400m, which looks her preferred distance at this stage, make her the horse to beat. She produced the fastest last 600m at Ellerslie last start in a BM75, comes back in grade and this looks easier. Our Solana comes out of an inform stable and will be guided by the country's leading jockey, fitter for her fresh up run and stepping out in trip make her a danger here.
Race 9 BM75 1400m
Tiantai won well fresh up, albeit with the run of the race, but let down well and looks to have returned this preparation in good order. She goes up in grade but comes back 2.5kg in weight. Micheal McNab sticks with the mare; he has been aboard her in both race day wins to date. Erin Go Bragh has improved with every run this time in, he is third up here and peaking. Has won third up in a previous campaign so profiles nicely.
