Tim O'Connor has outlined his selections and suggested game plan for tonight's nine-race card at Melton Entertainment Park.

R1 – 6.02pm – TAB We're On Pace – 1720m

3 Platinum Jive

4 Twisting By

11 Emily Vincent

5 Rocknroll Gronk

Platinum Jive's last couple of efforts have been full of merit, ripping home from back in the field for third placings and Kilmore and Ballarat. Last time she led she was a dominant winner at Cranbourne, and I fancy she can get down to the pegs here and threaten at an each-way quote.

BACK: 3 Platinum Jive – 1 unit (win)/3 units (place)

R2 – 6.36pm – Betavet Pace – 1720m

6 Angel Of Anger

2 Judes Dude

3 Harley Blue

1 Aussiepride

(noting I have a small ownership share in Harley Blue)

R3 – 7.02pm – City Of Melton Pace – 1720m

4 Nai Harn Bay

3 Lester

6 Betting On Courage

2 Snazola

Nai Harn Bay was beaten as our best bet of the night last Friday, but I'll give him one more chance in another race that looks very suitable.

BACK: 4 Nai Harn Bay – 2 units (win)

R4 – 7.37pm – IRT Pace – 2240m

10 Best Deal

9 Komodo

2 Ooh Ah Listah

8 Steel Ruler

R5 – 8.12pm – Lionheart Security 3YO Pace – 1720m

7 Zahra Lou

5 Dance Affair

6 Sky City

1 Carramar Olam

R6 – 8.47pm – Swift Signs 2YO Pace – 1720m

7 Storms Collide

5 The Last Trip

2 Martyr

3 Seathestars

R7 – 9.22pm – Mimosa Homes Mares Pace – 1720m

5 Draw A Dream

6 Classic Angelina

7 Elusive

3 Spirit Of Pearl

R8 – 9.57pm – Renown Silverware 3YO Trot – 1720m

7 All That Remains

1 Magic Law

6 Remus Phoenix

5 Freight Shaker

On a tough night to find value, I thought Magic Law looked capable of running top two in the small field at odds. She has a poor winning strike rate of one victory from 32 starts, but all of her recent runs have been full of merit. With good gate speed, she should be able to lead and can give a sight at a price.

BACK: 1 Magic Law – 1 unit (place)

R9 – 10.31pm – 2Construct 2YO Trot – 1720m

6 Carla Pixie

7 Karbine

5 Sebastians Waiting

1 Steady Dream

Karbine was running into it nicely on debut but broke in the concluding stages to run seventh behind Sassy Galleon last week. A nice finale at the Maryborough trials before that suggests he has some ability. Very open race where nothing would surprise, but worth a small play on the each-way.

BACK: 7 Karbine – 1.5 units (each-way)

For all your harness form in one place go to goodform.thetrots.com.au

** A betting unit is typically a percentage of the total bankroll or the amount of money you are willing to risk on a particular bet – for example 1 unit is 10% of your bankroll, therefore with a $100 bankroll 1 unit equals $10.
