RACE 1 - AMBASSADORS (10) at his top today and no excuses with the 55kg from the low draw. Kept finding with the 60kg when third at Hawkesbury over the 1800m on August 13. Go on his solid third to Green Shadows two back in this grade. Solid each-way contender. FORECASTER (6) deep into his prep and stretches out to the 1800m for the first time here. Gave plenty of cheek on the speed when a narrow third over 1500m here at the latest. Gets the right run again and King keeps the ride. KONING (11) had mixed luck all prep and indicated a win was imminent after sticking on well to finish second over 2000m at Kembla Grange on August 10. Drop in weight helps and can handle the rise in grade. Must respect. AGITA (5) first-up after three months powered late over an unsuitable trip when fourth over 1400m at Warwick Farm on August 21. Has a ton of ability and look for him finishing off strongly.
RACE 2 - SEQUESTERED (3) classy mare close to her peak now. Starting to get out to her right distance range and will appreciate the solid tempo from the good gate. Will prove hard to hold out. Multiple Group 2 placegetter VIVY AIR (7) was well fancied on resumption when closing late to finish third over 1200m here on August 3. Ready for this trip and further now and a repeat of latest will see her go close. IT'S A KNOCKOUT (10) strong maiden winner two-back on debut, before setting a good tempo before being collared late to run second over 1400m at Randwick. Further improved and can give plenty of cheek again from the low gate. MOUNTAIN TOP (11) returned a much stronger mare and chasing her third straight victory. Big jump in grade today but stays in the mix on the limit weight. Each-way.
RACE 3 - SUPER NORWEST (2) model of consistency who gets her chance to break through here from the good draw. Speared across from the wide gate and tired late when a tenacious second over 1300m here in C3 grade on August 17. The one to beat. VOLCANIC LOVE (1) first-up after three months drifted back early before warming up late when a narrow seventh over 1200m at Doomben on August 7. Goes equally as well second-up and did race in stronger company last time in. COMMANDO JACK (4) kept fresh for this with the 3kg claim after scoring a fast-finishing victory over 1400m at Bathurst on July 30. Since fitted with a recent 1000m trial and has the ability to take this out. MY MATE KATE (17) has a fairly handy record and was in need of the run on resumption when sixth over 1200m at Wyong in the Mona Lisa Prelude on August 18. Firmer track helps and looks good each-way value.
RACE 4 - MONARCHS BRAE (9) well supported late in betting when a disappointing tenth over the 1900m here on August 17. Go on his two runs prior and he should be able to hold a forward position today. ALL IN THE MIND (5) won two of his last three starts and deserves his shot in this tougher grade. Bounced back to form when he swooped late to score a nose victory over 1600m at Warwick Farm on August 21. Well drawn and can take a hand in the finish. The chances don't end there. I AM THE EMPIRE (12) returns from a 31-day let-up and looks up to this tougher assignment. Went under narrowly with the 58kg when second over 2200m at Warwick Farm on July 31. Maps well and don't underestimate.
RACE 5 - Multiple Group 3 placegetter UP AND UNDER (5) returned for his second Australian prep with an eye-catching eighth over 1400m here on August 3. J Mac takes the ride today and expected to settle a little closer from the good gate. Go close. ZONDEE (6) snagged back from the wide gate when resuming with an unlucky seventh over 1400m here on August 17. Comes to hand quickly and will stalk the good speed from the low draw. TOO MUCH CAVIAR (9) first-up after seven months stuck on well with the 62kg when second over 1250m at Canterbury on August 7. Distance suits and has genuine top-three claims. UNUSUAL LEGACY (3) returns from a break of three-and-a-half months with a handy fresh record. Went out a winner in good style over 1700m at Scone in BM78 grade on May 18. Fitter with two trials and gets weight relief with the claim.
RACE 6 - GATSBY'S (2) has a fitness edge on these after rounding them up effortlessly when resuming with a dominant 2 len win over 1100m in the LR Rosebud here on August 17. Will prove hard to hold out again in this stronger contest. Group 2 winner STORM BOY (1) returns from a five month spell. Has the imposing record of four wins from six starts and gets all the map favours from the inside gate. Has looked strong in both trial wins and will be tough to get past late. MAYFAIR (6) speedy customer who should be even more effective on the firmer surface. Taken to the front and strong on the line when a determined winner over 1200m here six weeks ago. This is tougher and the blinkers go on after scoring a slick trial win on August 19. Stays in the mix. KING OF ROSEAU (4) underrated colt resuming with a good fresh record. Strong through the line when fourth over 1050m in a Randwick trial on August 19. Has solid place prospects.
RACE 7 - AUTUMN GLOW (5) exciting filly who lived up to the big boom when an emphatic 2.5 len winner on debut over 1300m here two weeks ago. Goes up a level today and looks destined for bigger things. MEDIA WORLD (6) smart Written Tycoon colt resuming. Created a big impression when leading throughout in good time taking out the Clarendon over 1400m at Hawkesbury on May 4. Looked good in his recent trial placing over 1050m at Randwick and has solid each way prospects. Group 2 placegetter SHANGRI LA EXPRESS (1) showed good early speed when resuming before tiring late with the 60kg when fifth behind Gatsby's over 1100m in the LR The Rosebud at this track. Further improved now but the slight niggle is the final 50m with the 59.5kg. WANARUAH (2) speedy colt undefeated in two runs on rain-affected going. Gets onto the firmer surface today from the wide gate and will be in this for a long way. Fitted with a recent trial over 1030m and can sneak into the minor money.
RACE 8 - Multiple Group 1 placegetter CEOLWULF (5) looks set for a good prep after returning slick figures late on resumption when sixth over 1400m here on August 17. Can race closer today and surge late. AMOR VICTORIOUS (10) was taken straight to the front when returning from a five-month break before being edged out late by Tom Kitten when second in the Spring Preview here over 1400m on August 17. Should get an easy lead here and show plenty of fight late. Group 3 placegetter CHARTERHOUSE (6) is deep into his prep and due for a change of luck. Collared late when second over 1600m in the Coffs Harbour Cup on August 2. Stays in the mix. Randwick Guineas winner COMMUNIST (7) had no luck from the wide gate first-up when a tiring ninth over 1400m here in the Spring Preview on August 17. Firmer deck helps from the low draw.
RACE 9 - WILLAIDOW (12) has further improvement to come and J Mac keeps the ride after scoring a dominant win as fav over 1200m at Randwick three weeks ago. Genuine top-three prospect from the gate. SHEZANALISTER (9) drops in class after getting out late when a tough third over 1200m at Randwick in the G2 Missile on August 10. Map suits and can take a hand in the finish. The chances don't end there. KIBOU (5) resumed well at this course a fortnight ago. Will be fitter for the run and has won second up in the past. Should find the lead with minimal fuss from gate 1 and take some catching.
RACE 10 - Tough way to end the day. Group 2 placegetter BLANC DE BLANC (3) resumes after failing to live up to expectations last time in. Since fitted with two sound trials and gets her chance with J Mac aboard. BOSTON ROCKS (10) primed for this fourth-up after tiring late behind Our Kobison when fourth over 1000m at Randwick on August 10. Best form puts him right in this. HEADWALL (2) smart sprinter who ploughed through the heavy conditions on resumption when a comfortable winner over the 1000m at Randwick Kensington on August 14. Gets the claim again and yet to be tried over this trip. Keep safe. Group 3 winner SEBONACK (4) only has the two wins from 19 starts and should get the right tempo here. Drifted back before attacking the line late when third over 1000m at Randwick on August 10. Berry sticks and no shock to see him take this out.
