Melvista Stakes (LR)
A good front running ride by visiting jockey Glen Boss saw the 12/1 chance Gold Broker produce a strong staying performance to score a narrow victory. Gold Broker was used up from his wide barrier to firstly sit on the quarters of the early leader Express Service before taking up the lead at the 1700m. He ran along at a good pace in front but was able to kick strongly on cornering fending off all challenges in the straight to score a determined victory. Another Holdup had every chance in the run racing in fifth one out with a trail. He finished on strongly on the outside but just could not get by the winner in the concluding stages. Trading Day raced on the inside of Another Holdup. He took inside runs in the straight and found the line well to be beaten narrowly for third place. *ANZ
