The favourite Coolring was smartly away, then eased to race in fifth place on the rails, but raced a bit keenly in stages. Jason Collett eased him across heels rounding the home turn, he then sprinted quickly to take the lead at the 200m and went on to win easily by just under three lengths. *ANZ
