Peter and Paul Snowden-trained colt Mediterranean looks highly promising. Resuming after fifths in Group Two races in his first preparation earlier in the year, he did not show much early pace, settled back in seventh place before making a fast (wide) move from the 700m. He raced to the front on straightening and then went on to win most impressively, looking every inch a quality colt. Godolphin-raced colt Saxophone showed pace to cross from barrier eight and he led the field until into the straight. He then held on well for a very promising second on debut, just finding the classy winner too good here. His Godolphin stablemate, Malaise settled back in ninth place and she caught the eye in running on late for third, also going very well on debut.
