Team Hawkes-trained filly A Mist Opportunity did well winning here on debut, albeit narrowly. She settled nicely in fourth place, before moving up nearing the home turn. She challenged at the 100m and battled on best to score in a photo. In Times Of War, a filly from the Chris Waller stable also racing on debut, travelled outside the leader (Bella Vino), got to the front at the 200m, only to be caught at the post for the closest of seconds. Sparkle, who was resuming, was back in eighth place and did well, running on well over the closing stages for third.
