Lindsay Park-trained three-year-old Carraig Aonair put a good effort in winning here at his second start. He began smartly from his wide barrier (11) and soon crossed to the lead. He then settled nicely, got a good break on straightening and had enough in hand to win well despite his early efforts. Trent Busuttin and Natalie Young-trained filly Ceylon went well on debut. She did not show much early pace, racing in seventh place one off the rails, before going deep at the home turn. She then ran on good style to take a promising second. She should appreciate further.
