Northern Glory was eased to settle fifth one off the rails. She was asked to improve nearing the home turn, switched out after turning for home and then came with a well timed run to hit the lead at the 100m before drawing clear to win nicely by a length. The consistent filly Everage had a good trip in third place on the rails, got an inside run at the home turn and looked the winner when she moved clear at the 200m. But she could not hold off the late-finishing winner, battling on for a sound second. Ryker, a stablemate of the winner, was fourth to the turn and kept battling on along the rails to take the minor placing. Mamwaazel plugged on quite nicely from last in the seven-horse field at the turn for fourth, while the favourite Bernabeu worked wide to take the lead at the 700m but disappointed in the straight, tiring for fifth. *ANZ
