This Listed juvenile 1100m saw the first two home prove way superior to the rest and in fact they had five lengths on the third finisher The Soultaker led and won the event by a head from Manolo Blahniq but the runner up should have won for fun. The raceday experienced The Soultaker led on the inner and kicked clear at the 200m before holding on just to clock 1:05.09 atop an off Avondale track affected by rain on the day. The colt beat the unbeaten triallist Manolo Blahniq that was in all honesty a moral beaten after pulling his brains out early fourth in behind them then got to the outer across the top and was still green and keen. Then to make matters worse he was run unhelpfully wider turning for home and all these increments of loss add up but still this showy colt kept coming. The rematch cannot come quick enough as we know what the betting order will be again. The distant third finisher was Cavallucci, which had already won on raceday before, so it showed the top two are the real deal at this stage. On The Move was okay albeit distant and there is a race in the likes of Broadway Hit and Old Farm Road plus Marquess Of when in the appropriate field. Look no further than the top two regarding the Karaka Million in late January next year from this particular event as the rest behind them will not be beating either home between now and then.
