Rangeview Stud 3yo Classic (LR)
The favourite Quilista is now the winner of all four runs this preparation. She was smartly away and then eased to race behind the leader (Akiko). She moved outside that runner at the 700m, got to the front at the 300m and fought back well when challenged, drawing clear in the latter stages to win decisively. The 2016 WA Guineas (Gr 2, 1600m) winner Variation, who was having his first run since winning that race in November, settled back in sixth place, one off the rails, made a quick move (wide) nearing the home turn, looked a threat at the 200m and then battled on very well for a really promising second after conceding 6kg to the winner.
