Channel Seven Dalrello Stakes (LR)
Pinch River scored an impressive first-up win. He began quickly from his outside barrier (14) and soon crossed to the lead. He then settled nicely before picking up the tempo again nearing the home turn. He dashed clear at the 200m and was untroubled to win by two and a quarter lengths in good time (1:10.76) on the Dead 5 track. Thief Of Hearts did very well on debut. He was one out and one back but was under riding from the 600m, he kept responding however and moved to second at the 200m. He then kept fighting on in good style to hold second, in a promising effort at his first start. Kelvin The Kruel was back in tenth place on the rails, switched wide on straightening and made up good ground to take third, beaten two and three quarter lengths. The favourite Goodbye Kevin was eighth, one off the rails, moved up wide on turning for home and ran on fairly well for (2.9 lengths) fourth, without threatening. *ANZ
