Two-year-old colt Wicked Intent followed up his good debut win at the Gold Coast on 4 October to win most impressively here and now looks to have strong claims for the Magic Millions 2YO Classic (RL, 1200m) in January. He began quickly, went straight to the front and settled nicely in the mid-stages. He dashed clear on turning for home and went on to win by four and a half lengths, sprinting home his final 600m in a smart 33.94. Mishani Honcho raced a bit greenly in the early stages and settled back in seventh place. He stuck to the rails at the turn, got a split on straightening and then fought on quite well for second, having no chance with the winner. Mishani Di Caprio raced outside the leader to the turn and kept battling on in the straight to hold third, while the favourite Meet George Jetson was third on the rails but was under pressure at the turn and then weakened to finish (9.1 lengths) fourth.
