Candika remains unbeaten in two starts after her debut win here over 1050m on 31 October. She settled back in fifth place on the rails, stuck to the inner rounding the home turn and got through to challenge at the 200m. She then battled strongly and went on to score a narrow but good win. Favourite Royal Tithe travelled well in third place on the rails, switched across heels on straightening, briefly looked the winner when she hit the front at the 100m and the battled well for sound second, her second such placing in two starts to date. One Golden Day showed good pace to lead, went quick in the early stages, steadied the pace in the mid-stages and held the lead until nearing the 100m and then fought on well for a close-up third.
