Whiskey Allround settled in fourth position one out one back. Ridden along before the home turn he straightened with four lengths to find on the leaders, but he responded well hitting the front inside the final 250m to draw away to a strong victory. Espiritu raced on the back of the speed. She turned for home three wide in the clear, momentarily hitting the front with the winner at the 200m, but could not sustain her run to finish second. Weinholt, who raced in midfield, closed under hard riding on the outside to just miss second.
