Lavazza Short Black (G3)
Plucky Belle was eased back from her wide barrier to settled second last three wide with a trail. She tracked the runner up Arinosa into the race commencing a wide move four and five wide from the 750 metres. She peeled out into the clear at the 350 metres and let down with an impressive turn of foot to draw away to an impressive win really attacking the line. Arinosa was the unlucky runner of the race being forced to cover a lot of extra ground. She cornered on the outside of the field and committed for home first. She could not fend off the late challenge of the winner on her outside but tried the whole way to the line, to only be beaten a length and a quarter, a top effort. She’s Clean came from last and wide on the turn to be finishing fast for third a further length back. *ANZ
