The Chris Waller-trained Marmelo looks a promising staying three-year-old filly. Glyn Schofield eased her to settle at the tail of the nine-horse field. She was giving the leader about ten lengths passing the 800m point but Schofield continued to ride patiently and got a nice run through shortly after straightening. She improved to third at the 300m and kept finishing on resolutely to win by a length at the post, running the 1700m out well. She looks suited to further and is a good autumn prospect. *ANZ
