Richie’s Vibe ($4.80 second favourite was ridden off the pace as usual and settled back in ninth place, one off the rails, following a solid tempo (first 600m 34.71). He was giving the leader about eight lengths nearing the 600m, Damien Oliver steering him between runners shortly afterwards but they were blocked briefly on straightening before getting through to fifth at the 100m. He then produced a fast late-finishing dash to grab a narrow but good win. The favourite Moment Of Change ($1.90) went forward from his outside barrier (10) and was trapped deep in the early stages before moving up, three wide without cover, racing a bit keenly in stages. He got to the lead at the 100m, only to be caught in the latter stages for a good first-up (long head) second after a difficult trip. It Is written ($15) was handily placed from his inside barrier (1) about fourth on the rails to the home turn. He got a split between runners at the 100m and then battled on quite well for third. Counted ($26) was eased from his wide barrier (9) and raced in last place in the ten-horse field to the 600m. He switched deep on straightening and was a late-closing fourth, beaten two and a half lengths, putting up a good effort. *ANZ
