The John McArdle-trained Smart As You Think could be a VRC Oaks (Gr 1 2500m) prospect after putting up a really good effort to score her first win in six starts, stepping up to 2040m here. She settled back in eighth place, improved well behind the leading group at the 600m, went widest of all at the home turn and then finished resolutely to grab a narrow but strong win. She should continue to improve and looks to be hitting form at the right time.
