The Thousand Guineas (Gr 1, 1600m) winner Aloisia claimed favouritism for the upcoming VRC Oaks (Gr 1, 2500m) with a dominant performance here. She was quickly away and then travelled well in third place on the rails, behind a solid pace. She improved along the inner from the 600m, dashed clear shortly after turning for home and then raced away to score easily in a most impressive performance. The Norman Robinson Stakes (Gr 3, 2000m) winner Cliff’s Edge soon crossed from his outside barrier (ten) to lead. He then ran along at a solid pace before being overtaken on turning for home. He then fought on well after his early efforts for (3.5 lengths) second. Salsamor tracked the leader (Cliff’s Edge) and held on to take the minor placing, some nine lengths from the winner.
