A game win to Global Balance who came from fifth last and widest on the home turn to run down Maybe Discreet in the last 100m to score a narrow but good victory. Maybe Discreet had her chance enjoying a nice run in seventh before securing a run between runners on cornering. She ranged up and looked the certain winner but just found the winner on her outside slightly the better. Swinging Solider came from worse than midfield and wide on the home turn, she tired a little in the concluding stages for a close third. Kazanluk came from a detached last, over 20 lengths from the leader. She made up a huge amount of ground and was closing late on. A good effort under the circumstances and a step up in distance should suit. *ANZ
