Favourite and winner of the Vanity Stakes (Gr 3, 1400m) at Flemington in February, Kenedna showed her class in the run home for win four from 11 starts. She was one of the slowest into stride, was fourth last upon settling and had improved only a couple of spots at the 800m. Approaching the last corner she threaded between runners to be handy, one off the fence turning in. She struck traffic in the straight but found a way through (one off the fence) at the 100m and inched clear to win fairly convincingly by three quarters of a length at the line. With A Bit Of Dash ranged up three wide turning in then ran on well, giving the winner a good tussle to the 50m. Peninsula Links led them at the top of the straight and held on well for third.
