Northam Toyota Stakes (LR)
Group One winning mare Magnifisio is racing in top form since resuming, now winning two of her three starts this preparation. She settled back in second last place in the small six-horse field, following a solid pace before improving (three wide) nearing the home turn. She then sprinted quickly to challenge at the 200m before drawing clear to easily with her eighth stakes in her impressive career. Dawn Approach went to the front and he fought back very well when challenged in the straight, just finding the winner too classy over the final stages to hold on for a good second. De Andes raced outside the leader and he kept battling strongly in the straight, just missing second by the barest of margins in finishing third.
