Tabtouch - Pinjarra Cup (LR)
Zarantz followed up his recent win in the Albany Cup (2100m) with a good win, stepping up to Listed class here. He settled back in fourth place, one off the rails, following a good pace. He improved nicely approaching the home turn and easily took the lead on straightening. He looked set for an easy win and then fought back to defeat the late-closing runner-up. The top weight (59kg) Tower Of Lonhro raced in last place in the 11-horse field and remained there to the home turn. He switched deep on turning for home and then came with a strong run for a very good second, conceding 5kg to the winner. Saxy Grace raced near the rear of the field before tracking up nicely (with cover) from the 800m. She went deep on turning for home and then battled on well to take the minor placing.
