Dark Jewel Classic (LR)
Analysis: Arctic Flight began quickly and sat outside the leader for the first 200m before moving to the outright lead. Turning for home she held a one length advantage but was soon challenged by the runner-up. However she refused to surrender and despite looking beaten kicked very strongly to just hold on for a tenacious win. Pipette enjoyed a charmed run just off the speed in fifth position. On straightening she peeled to the outside and let down stylishly. It looked like she was going to sweep past winner but just failed to reach her. Favourite Miss Stellabelle raced in mid division one off the fence. She was slightly crowded in the straight when trying to obtain a clear passage at 200m. Eventually she got balanced and finished very strongly but it was too late, she was arguably unlucky. *ANZ
