Promising two-year-old Voodoo Lad has now raced three times for two wins and a second. He began quite well from his good barrier (2) and drove through to lead narrowly at the 800m. He skipped clear on turning for home and battled gamely all the way down the long straight to win by a length and a quarter, putting up a good performance. Rom Baro, having only his second start, was a handy third on the rails to the turn. He went to second at the 200m and kept fighting on in good style for a promising second, six and a half lengths clear of the third-placed Bulletproof Monk, who ran on fairly well along the rails. *ANZ
