Mossbeat was away on terms with the field but restrained back to last where she settled down about six lengths from the leader Already Leica who ran along in the lead. She was taken to the outside of the field at the top of the home straight and came under pressure before picking up strongly late on taking the lead inside the final 50m to draw away a score well. Mossbeat finished a close second to Kalabek on her previous run at Caulfield on 21 April and today was her first win from three starts. Already Leica was game in defeat, she lead at a good pace in front and fought hard the whole way down the straight to only go under in the closing stages of the race. *ANZ
