The highly consistent John O’Shea-trained Steps In Time now has an impressive 50 per cent win record of eight victories from 16 starts. She went straight to the front, soon rolling clear and was never threatened winning by over three lengths from a quality field, seeming to win with plenty in reserve. The dual Group One winning mare Streama was back in third spot about four lengths from the leader Steps In Time, she was under pressure to improve from the 500m and battled on gamely under 59.5kg to take second, without ever looking likely to trouble the winner, whom she conceded 1.5kg. Pear Tart chased the leader, being a distant second from the 800m, fighting on nicely for a good third, her second outing from a spell. Appearance was last in the seven-horse field to the home turn before making ground along the rails for sound four and three quarter lengths fourth. *ANZ
