The G3 mile for 3yo fillies did not draw a vintage field for depth but the winner Coldplay looks an Oaks contender for sure with a dominant win. Coldplay sat handy the outer in a not strongly run race and when asked to sing turning for home shot clear with aplomb to show she was the number one hit in this field. The 1:36.35 time was the slowest on the day but her three length victory was the biggest winning margin comfortably at the meeting. It was her second win in four starts and she has that ping the run home that will take her a lot further this season in both distance and higher Group races. Bella Court ran on well from the back and is a filly much better than her record suggests. Fame Seeker ran well for third just ahead of Alarmist that found the line too considering she strode up deep across the top and then fifth turning for home. Cool Tart was a tad disappointing while Missy Moo was not too bad after making an early move wide before the home turn. Honor That was okay running on a shade very late and she would win in a lesser grade easily on her form this time in. After such a dominant win the Oaks album is only playing Coldplay at the moment and since they are the half time act at Superbowl 50 early next year the name will be in the headlines for a while yet.
