The winning time of O’Marilyn was 1:10.38 and that can be measured alongside the Open Handicap final race on the card that the winner clocked 1:09.95 in a strangely run but solid enough race. The gap in terms of lengths was about two and three quarter lengths. O’Marilyn may have won the race and learned more by not getting away cleanly after copping a bump early and then recovering the midfield the fence. She is well enough built anyway but looks quite imposing this season and still has that will to compete and win plus showed today she can ping after a directional shift the run home. The length she won by on the line after driving through into third the rail at the 100m would have been a lot more if through into clear air earlier. Flaming was huge for second after settling down second last to the home turn. The way she lengthened out the final 200m when into an unhindered path augurs well for her this season. Shees Flawless has the physique to do more this season and her third was sound especially after being forced so wide turning for home then striding up easily to threaten. Cherry Vain just needs a decent draw to win again after being wide working then up outside the leader and taking over early in the run home. Bonniegirl for a filly having just her second ever start was sound after coming wider the home turn from back of midfield. The unsung super effort was by Divissima when sixth beaten three lengths as no runner had a harder run and she was deadest slaughtered by her rider. Wide without cover and working throughout then the deepest runner turning for home but the filly kept digging in. A big race winner in waiting when she learns to relax pre-race and of course be ridden better. Margaret Ann ran on the final stages from third last and for an inexperienced filly has a future. Readywhenyouare needs further and a mile minimum then the best of her will be seen. Lady Royale led and stopped badly the run home but more worryingly was that she dropped out to last beaten ten lengths. She was later found to have heart strain.
