This Listed race was won very easily indeed by the $2.10 favourite Tavi Mac that raced fifth the outer then moved up near the home and led turning in by half a length and four off the fence. He powered away to win this by almost three and a half lengths in 1.22.22 and recorded his eighth win in just thirteen starts. The winners and where they came from on the home turn were second (one-off the inside and a head behind), fourth (five-off the inside and two and a half lengths from the leader), sixth (six-off the inside and three lengths from the leader), third (six-off the inside and a length and a half from the leader), third (one-off the inside and two lengths from the leader), fourth (on the inner and two and a half lengths away from the leader), led (four-off the inside and half length from the leader), eighth (six-off the inside and four lengths from the leader) and led (a neck in front and three-off the inside). The bias was heavily on pace as shown by seven of the nine winners turning for home first, second, third or fourth. Tavi Mac was a class above this lot and could have won by a lot more but was let coast the closing stages as he recorded his first Blacktype win, a Listed success, which now goes with his G2 second effort three runs again. Hay Tiger at $29 came with a strong finish after being slow and last away and then settling down eleventh the inner. He came with a strong surge down the outer and reached second with 15m to go and beat Burgundy Belle home a by a short neck. Burgundy Belle had raced third then fourth the inner early and was fourth the inside across the top before going through to second in a gap at the 100m. Fourth home was Tweedledee at $28 that raced eighth mostly and came up sixth and widest turning for home. He sustained his run to reach fourth at the 200m and was just under four lengths away at the line. Crafty Jess settled down ninth the inner and was tenth turning for home then she fought on okay the inner for fifth beaten just over five lengths. Lavaglo ran on okay for sixth beaten also just over five lengths after racing tenth the outer and looking for a clear run early the run home. Ronchi was wide early then led and once headed turning for home wilted from third at the 100m to be swamped the final 50m. The next best home and beaten over seven lengths was New York Jazz while the last finisher was beaten almost seventeen lengths and was Pop Star Princess. The winner Tavi Mac was in a league of his own here. Hay Tiger after four misses at Blacktype prior finally got his reward today with a solid finishing second. A commendable effort has to go to Lavaglo, a two-win mare and having just her eleventh start today, fighting on for sixth.
