The winner Camino Rocoso was too strong in this G3 over 2100m, after being a clear leader almost throughout, with the first four over the line being covered by just two and a half lengths at the line. The winners and where they turned for home in race order were second (two-off the inside and half a length from the leader), seventh (on the fence and four lengths from the leader), led (a head clear and on the fence), second (one-off the inside and a length from the leader), fifth (on the inside and a length away), led (on the inside and six lengths clear), fourth (on the inside and two and a lengths from the leader), twelfth (seven-off the inside and six lengths from the leader) and fifth (six-off the inside and four lengths from the leader). Camino Rocoso soon led and at one stage was six lengths clear across the top to the home turn and still had a three lengths break on them at the 200m. He kept running and held on well to score by over a length and beat a game finishing Fiscal Fantasy that had sat fifth or fourth the inner and closed to be second at the 200m Masetto led early but soon handed up to the tearaway winner and was third on his own mostly and fought well to hold that position. Dolcetto raced fourth or fifth outside the runner up and fought well to the line. The fifth finisher Hunta Pence was second and chasing the clear winning leader and wilted the run home to be fifth and over five lengths away at the line. A length further back was the Dee And Gee and then came Sergeant Blast and then over a length to Jacksstar. The rest got beaten a dozen lengths and up to almost eighteen lengths. This was a field of several runners that had not won a race in quite a while, whereas as the winner had scored at his last start and then two runs before that and is hot and cold himself. Camino Rocoso was today winning his ninth race from forty-one starts and clocked 2:09.05 for the 2100m. Overall this was not a strong result and the winner has since been exposed badly at G1.
