Monachee travelled nicely in about eighth place one off the rails before moving up strongly from the 700m point. She came up wide rounding the home turn and swept to the lead at the 200m and the mare raced away to win impressively by six and a half lengths at the post. Darci Coup was midfield on the rails before being shuffled back nearing the home turn. She got into the clear at the 300m, where she was about 10 lengths from the leader, and made good ground over the final stages for a sound second. Floaisha was third one off the rails before moving up to put pressure on the leader (The Hand Of Faith) at the 700m. She got the better of that horse on straightening and battled on fairly well for third, albeit eight lengths from the winner at the post. *ANZ
